Description: Union cabinet launches and introduced a new education policy 2020.
This Decision taken by union cabinet makes a revolutionary change in the education system of the country. The NEP 2020 aims at making “India a global knowledge superpower”.The new academic session will begin in September-October – the delay is due to the unprecedented coronavirus disease (Covid-19) outbreak – and the government aims to introduce the policy before the new session student begins .
The following outputs of NEP 2020 :
- Mphil courses will be discontinued under the new education policy and all the courses of undergradutes ,postgraduates and Phd level will be interdiciplinery.
- All higher education institutes ,except legel and medical colleges ,will be governed by single regulator.
- Board exams in the schools will be low stakes and test actual knowledges of students instesd of “rote learning”.
- Home languages ,regional languages and mother tongue will be medium of instruction upto 5 std.
- School curriculum will be reduced to core conscept and there will be integration of vocational education from class 6.
- It will also cope with fees charged by educational institutes.
- Common entrance test will be held for admission to universities and higher education institutes.
- NEP 2020 aims to increase in the training of vocational educations and leads to gross develpoment in the education of the peoples and improves the litracy rate and higher education facilities.
